In the Children’s Department, we believe that the mission of the Ministry is to partner with parents and the church family to build a Biblical foundation so a child will learn to build their lives in Christ. Our current schedule includes: Sundays 9:00 a.m. Sunday School (grades 1 - 6) 10:30 a.m. KidStyle Worship (grades 1-4) Regular worship services (grades 5-6) 6:00 p.m. Children’s Choir Wednesdays 6:15 p.m. W.A.C.K.O. (June - August) RA’s & GA’s (during regular school season)SECURITYWe know as parents, your greatest concern as you drop your children off at church, is their safety. We have taken several measures to ensure your children are safe, secure, and enjoying their time here.We have adopted and put into place several policies concerning who may work with the children. One of them is that all children’s volunteers must go through a national criminal background check. If there is any doubt of a person’ reliability or trust, they are not permitted to work with the nursery, children's ministry, or youth ministry. Our goal is your children's safety when they attend church.
First Baptist offers Children’s Sunday School classes for grades 1 - 6 at
9:00 a.m. Children will learn about the love of Jesus using Bible stories
and activities geared just for them.
Sunday morning Worship KidStyle brings Bible stories to life and the day's truth home in a way kids will understand. School-age children will watch attention-holding life application videos that speak to them in their own language and show them how God's Word relates to their lives! Kidstyle Worship is for grades 1-4, while students in grades 5 and 6 attend regular worship in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m.
The W.A.L.K., (Worship Arts Link for Kids) First Baptist’s Children’s Choir, meets on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m., and is for grades 1 - 6. Children learn music and stories that bring the Word of God to life on their level. Children also learn music and drama for performances once or twice a year.Wednesday night activities for grades 1 - 6 begin at 6:15 p.m. During the school year, children attend RA’s (for boys) and GA’s (for girls.) All children will learn about the same Bible story and missionaries every month, with gender-specific learning activities provided for each organization.During the summer, children participate together in W.A.C.K.O. (Wild And Christian Kids Organization.) W.A.C.K.O. is a fun, fast paced program for children who have completed 1st through 6th grades and is based on Child Evangelism Fellowship material. Its two fold purpose is to lead unsaved children to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to help saved children to grow spiritually and to equip and encourage them to effectively share the Gospel with their friends and family.
