The Salt & Light Ministry of First Baptist Palm Coast enjoyed a wonderful sold-out group outing to De Leon Springs State Park on May 12, 2026. The day was filled with fellowship, laughter, learning, and appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation as attendees traveled together by bus for a memorable adventure through one of Florida’s historic natural treasures.

Guests experienced a guided scenic boat trip down the river at the springs where they learned about the rich history, legends, and myths surrounding the area, including the stories of the “healing waters” once described by the Mayaca Indians. Throughout the narrated tour, participants enjoyed breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. Osprey could be seen swooping down to catch fish from the clear waters while alligators rested peacefully along the sunny banks, giving everyone a close look at the natural beauty and ecosystem of the springs. The relaxing boat ride provided an unforgettable opportunity to experience the peaceful beauty of the waterways and surrounding wilderness.

The group also enjoyed a delicious and entertaining breakfast at the famous Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill & Griddle House where guests cooked pancakes right at their tables, making the meal both interactive and fun. The unique dining experience brought smiles, conversation, and many shared memories among friends old and new.

The outing was a tremendous success and provided a meaningful time of fellowship and community for all who attended. Participants returned home encouraged and grateful for the opportunity to spend time together while learning more about Florida’s history, wildlife, and natural wonders.
