Day 1 – 8 Days in Jerusalem by Margie Williamson

Theme – The Image of God

Verse – Hebrews 1:3, “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all things by the word of His power.” NASB

Thought to Ponder – Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory. The descriptive term “radiance” comes from the Greek word apaugasma and means a reflected brightness. In this way, Jesus reflects the brightness or glory of the Father in heaven. And not only does Jesus reflect God’s glory, He is the exact duplicate of God’s nature. The Greek word used here is charakter and is translated as the expressed image engraving or likeness, a precise reproduction in every respect of the original. Jesus is not just someone who was a good teacher, a moral man, or a good example to follow. Jesus provided humanity with an exact representation of the Father in heaven. Now as His followers, it is r mission to show the world an exact representation of Jesus as we live our lives according to His commands and teachings. Jesus was the image of God and accordingly, disciples of Jesus are to reflect the image, brightness, and glory of Jesus.

Prayer for today –

Dear Lord,
Thank you for Jesus, who reflected Your brilliance and represented You perfectly. Please help me to reflect Jesus’ brilliance today as I live my life in His power. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
