Day 6 – 8 Days in Jerusalem
Theme – Becoming Like Us
Verse Hebrews 2:17, “Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Propitiation is a big theological word which simply means “the turning away of wrath by an offering.” Propitiation has two outcomes: turning God’s anger away from us as sinners and restoring us back into God’s presence. Jesus accomplished both through His death and resurrection. It is difficult for me to reconcile that Jesus had to die for me to live. But serving as a propitiation for me and you and all of mankind, Jesus accomplished for us what no one else could. He became a man to make it possible that all mankind could receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God. Oh, What a Savior!
Today’s Prayer
Thank you Lord, for the gift of salvation, forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Help me to never get over how much You love me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
